Sports Physicals in El Paso

Bookmark and Share

Sports are a big thing in El Paso. If your child is going to play sports in middle school or in high school, they will need to get a physical at some point. If you find yourself in this situation, consider getting your sports physicals here at Eastside Medical Care Center.

In order to get your physicals here, we first have to understand what a physical is. The purpose of a sports physical is to ‘determine whether it’s safe for you to participate in a particular sport.’ Usually coaches will want a child that is going to participate in a sport to get one of these exams every year to make sure no problems persist in their health.

When it comes to getting your physical there are two parts to them, the medical history part and the physical exam part. In the medical history part there will be questions that need to be answered about your child’s medical history. Some of the questions will include any illnesses they have had in the past, any past injuries, if they have allergies, etc.

In the physical exam part, the doctor will record the height and weight of your child. They will also take their blood pressure; see what their vision is like; check their heart, lungs, ears, nose and throat areas; and exam their flexibility, strength, posture and joints, among other things.
